During the conflict in Vietnam, countless soldiers had sacrificed to protect the people of South Vietnam. Now, it is our turn to show our deep gratitude to them for the gallant efforts and humanitarian deeds that they carried out so selflessly. The U.S. Military and South Vietnamese Army had fought relentlessly side by side against Communist aggression. Without such strong bond and heroic resilience, many more lives would have been lost as South Vietnam fallen into the hands of Communists.
Their efforts were not only a crucial point in history for South Vietnam, but for America as well. Our Progress
With the design competition complete, the winning design was announced on January 11, 2017. A public exhibition took place January 16th through 21st in Louisville, Kentucky. Granite fabrication and shipping from Vietnam occurred from July, 2021 through October, 2022. Monument construction was completed in October, 2023.
